  • $75/hour in SE Calgary

    $90/hour at your home (outside of SE Calgary)

    Because every child’s learning needs are different, the best way to determine the right program and pricing is through a personal conversation — not a generic form.

    This lets us talk through your child’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals together, so we can build a plan that truly fits.

  • Children who need frequent review or challenges

    Children who have very specific and more complicated learning needs. These children often need more than once a week to review material and build understanding.

We help children go beyond decoding words to truly understand, connect, and think critically about what they’re reading. Writing support builds clear, confident expression—from sentence structure to strong essays.

Critical & Creative Thinking

For kids who need more challenge—or who thrive when they can think outside the box—we build higher-level problem-solving and creative exploration into tutoring sessions. This keeps learning engaging and stretches their potential in meaningful ways

Study Skills & Organization

We build strong reading foundations by teaching phonics in fun, practical ways that help words finally click. Early literacy tutoring gives your child the confidence to read, write, and express themselves with ease.

Early Literacy & Phonics

Your child will learn how to manage time, stay on top of assignments, and approach studying with strategies that actually work. These are lifelong skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Math Skills

From counting and basic numeracy to problem-solving and critical thinking, math becomes less overwhelming and more engaging. Our Calgary tutoring sessions focus on helping kids see patterns, build strategies, and feel capable with numbers.

Book a free “Get to Know You” call

This is an opportunity to see if my approach and the needs of your child are a match before you make a commitment.

Create a personalized learning plan

I will meet your child for a free 30 minute session in which we can discuss what their learning goals are. I will informally assess your child and provide a recommendation on how much tutoring time per week is needed to accomplish these goals.

Tutoring sessions begin

I work to connect and build upon what their individual targeted learning needs are.

Are they struggling with understanding what they are reading? Are they unsure of how to read and write using phonetic strategies? Is there a need to review foundational math skills?

You don’t learn by drills and completion of worksheets; you learn by asking questions, being curious, and reaching answers with the help of examples and opportunities to practise with positive feedback.

You’ll receive frequent check-ins from me about your child’s learning, as well as access to resources and tips for learning at home in engaging ways.

FAQs

  • After the initial free 30-minute session with your child, I will make a recommendation on the level of intervention needed. 

  • Based on our phone call about the needs of your child, I will work with them with some age-appropriate material and informally assess their confidence or mastery. I will share my observations in a follow-up meeting where I will share a learning plan with the parents and child.

  • As every student is different, the benefit of working with an experienced teacher is that the learning can be adapted to review or extend learning without a prescriptive approach. This way, children are more engaged and motivated when the lesson plans are designed to scaffold the learning. 

  • Week evenings and Saturdays. Days and times are flexible based on the family schedule. Holidays and weekends are available as well. 

  • My goal is to empower children and families to advocate for themselves, what their learning needs, and what works best for them. Working in alignment with the school curriculum will be done, and feedback will be provided to families on developmental readiness. 

  • After meeting your child and working with them, a recommendation will be provided on how often they should be tutored to meet their goals.
