Elena Gillis

Seasoned Educator. Supportive Mom. Student Advocate.

Elena Gillis didn’t always plan on becoming a teacher.

In fact, her journey started with a simple belief: that children thrive when someone truly listens to them.

Early in her career, she saw how easy it was for kids to get overlooked in busy classrooms—and how powerful it was when a teacher slowed down, noticed their strengths, and gave them space to grow.

That moment lit a spark.

Since then, Elena has spent 20+ years teaching in private international schools, earning her Master’s in Education with a specialty in phonics, and guiding students of all ages to feel capable and confident in their learning.

Her passion for personalized education only deepened when she became a mom herself.

"Raising a neurodivergent child has taught me so much.
Every child can tackle challenges when given the correct tools and are supported.”

My son struggled with speech issues and I learned how important professional early intervention is so that they do not lose confidence in themselves as a learner.

Like every child, he needs to be supported and motivated to do his best. Most of all, he needed to know that I will never give up on helping him achieve his goals.

The challenges are very different for every child and getting to know a child in a real way can help to unlock their potential.

I do not give up on kids, and I do not let them give up on themselves.

Learning can happen in many different forms. By tapping into a child’s unique interests and strengths, we can build a growth mindset together — one where they notice their wins and feel proud of their progress.

My goal is to get to know your child on a real level: What excites them? What makes them feel capable? What are they passionate about? From there, I design a personalized learning program that meets them where they are, keeps them engaged, and challenges them to grow.

I know how much you care about giving your child the best support possible. I’m here to walk alongside you, to celebrate the wins, and to make learning feel joyful again.

With warmth and care,
Elena

OUR APPROACH

OUR APPROACH ✹

Young woman sitting on the floor leading a group activity with children in a cozy living room.

We don’t believe in busy work. We believe in exploration.

We don’t push perfection.
We champion progress.

We don’t just teach skills.
We build confidence.

I approach every child with high expectations, tons of encouragement, and a deep toolkit- especially for kids who are neurodivergent, sensitive, or struggling with confidence.

My approach gently shifts kids away from chasing perfection and toward becoming curious, confident learners-
kids who feel safe to take risks, speak up, and explore the world with their whole, wonderful selves.

Every tutoring session is designed to meet children where they are-whether that means catching up, building strategies, or stretching into new challenges.
